NOTICE OF RACE

1 RULES
1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.
1.2 No national authority prescriptions will apply.
1.3 Racing rule 26 will be changed as follows for all pursuit races: no signals will be given. Racing rule 61.2 will be changed as follows: a Protest Fee will be required in the event of a protest not being settled in advance of submission of protest forms. The changes will appear in full in the sailing instructions. In addition, Rule 77 will not apply.
1.4 If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence.
2 ADVERTISING
Advertising is permitted but boats wishing to carry their own sponsors advertising are invited to contact the race organizers to prevent conflict with race sponsors.
3 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
3.1 The regatta is open to all boats of the following classes:
A. Cruising Monohulls
B. Cruising Multi-Hulls
C. IRC Keelboats
D. Hobie cats
3.2 For a Class to be recognized by the Regatta, a minimum of 3 boats must enter the Class. Classes may be divided or combined subject to the number of entries in the Class.
3.3 Eligible boats may enter by completing the attached entry form and sending it to the PGYC Office, Puerto Galera Yacht Club by November 1st, 2007 or in person at the clubhouse before the skippers brief on Friday 2nd November
4 FEES
4.1 Entry Fees, which include entry for the boat and dinner at the opening evening for her skipper, are as follows:
Classes A, B and C P2,000. D P1200.
Crew tickets of P315 are also available at the time of registration if boats register
and pay in advance before MONDAY OCTOBER 15th. This represents a 10% discount
on the opening evening’s dinner price and includes regatta souvenirs.
5 SCHEDULE
5.1 Registration at the PGYC clubhouse:
Thursday November 1st From 1200 To 2200
Friday November 2nd From 0700 To 0900
5.2 Registration may also be accomplished by emailing the attached registration form to office@pgyc.org.
5.3 The racing schedule is as follows.
Cruising and Multihull classes:
Friday November 2nd, long pursuit race.
Saturday November 3rd, long pursuit race.
Sunday November 4th, short pursuit race.
IRC Class:
Friday November 2nd, long pursuit race.
Saturday November 3rd, windward/leeward races conditions permitting.
Sunday November 4th short pursuit race.
6 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The sailing instructions will be available after 1200 on October 1st from the PGYC website at www.pgyc.org.
7 VENUE
Racing will take place in Verde Island Passage in the vicinity of Puerto Galera.
8 BERTHING
Limited mooring will be available on a first come first serve basis. The moorings are typically full so competitors should plan on anchoring at the Boquete Island anchorage from where a scheduled service to PGYC will be available.
9 PRIZES
9.1 Overall trophies will be given for the first three places scored across all classes.
9.2 Overall trophies will be given for the first three places in each class.
9.3 Daily prizes will also be given for the first three places in each class.
10 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
